albion park rail bypass

In 2022, Transport for NSW completed an extension of the M1 Princes Motorway between Yallah and Oak Flats to bypass Albion Park Rail. The Albion Park Rail bypass was a $630 million project funded by the NSW Government that completed the 'missing link' for a high standard road between Sydney and Bomaderry. It is an important freight, bus and tourist route. The bypass was opened in October 2021, and work was completed early 2022.

Caddmandu worked with the Fulton Hogan Tender design team, along with the final design consultants in assisting to prepare the traffic staging requirements for the project at the tender stage. Once the tender had been won by Fulton Hogan, we then commenced working the traffic staging models up, according to the requirements of the construction team. In some areas we were able to again influence the final design outcomes to ensure that better productivity and design outcomes were achieved in the final design process.
Our role on the project continued throughout the construction period, offering temporary works and traffic design assistance to the construction team, as they progressed through the different options for constructing some of the more difficult areas of the project. Caddmandu was there to ensure the construction process was smooth, assisting Fulton Hogan with ensuring the approval process through Transport for NSW (TfNSW) was as smooth as possible. Many of the innovative ideas coming from the Fulton Hogan Construction Team were in fact verified by Caddmandu that they could be put into place and used to expedite construction.
